Chandigarh. Qaumi Insaaf Manch has been organizing dharnas for the release of Sikh prisoners in Punjab for more than a year. The Punjab government has failed to remove it. While hearing the same case, the Punjab and Haryana High Court reprimanded the Punjab Government and said that when the Haryana Government can use force against Ram Rahim and Rampal, then why is the Punjab Government hesitating to do so. If the government fails to end the agitation by April 18, then be prepared for our very strict decision. It is the responsibility of the state government to maintain law and order.
Petition was filed in March
A petition was filed on behalf of Arrive Safe Society through advocate Ravi Kamal Gupta demanding removal of the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha demonstration. It was told in the petition that the protesters have blocked the Chandigarh-Mohali road due to which people are facing problems. This protest started in February last year and the petition was filed in the High Court in March.
Case pending for one year
The matter has been pending in the High Court for a year and in such a situation, during the hearing on Tuesday, the High Court strongly reprimanded the Punjab Government. The High Court said that when Rampal had to be evicted from his ashram, force was used, in the case of Ram Rahim also the crowd was controlled with the same force, so why is the Punjab government hesitating in this.
Law and order is the responsibility of the state government
Meanwhile, the Central Government said that law and order is the responsibility of the State Government but if help is sought from the Centre, then companies will be made available as per the requirement. The High Court said that despite such a long time passing and giving so many opportunities, the government is not doing anything. Now time is being given till 18th April and if the protesters are not removed during this period, then the government should be ready for our very strict orders.
