CM Bhagwant Mann Open Debate Live Updates: Punjab government has extended an open invitation to all the people of the state for the open debate to be held between CM Bhagwant Mann and all other political parties in Ludhiana on 1st November. CM Mann has named this debate ‘I speak Punjab’. Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium of Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has been booked by the Punjab Government for this debate. The seating capacity of this auditorium is around 1000 but CM Mann’s open invitation to 3 crore people of Punjab has increased the concern of the police and administration. In view of the participation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and senior opposition leaders in this debate, tight security arrangements have been made in Ludhiana city. According to media reports, one thousand people can sit in the auditorium but due to the presence of many VVIPs, only 800 people can be seated there. Apart from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, no Aam Aadmi Party MLA will take part in this debate. It is also being said that no banner or slogan should be put up on the stage.
Police made strict security arrangements
All the top officials of the government have camped in Ludhiana to complete the preparations related to the debate and maintain security arrangements. Ludhiana DC Surabhi Malik herself reached the auditorium on Tuesday to see the arrangements. Punjab Police’s Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla himself has been busy finalizing the security arrangements for the last two days. Barricading is being done on the roads leading to PAU. However, the government does not want any strictness to be taken to stop people. In such a situation, the officials are worried that if a crowd of people other than VVIP people and their supporters gather, then the arrangements may get hampered.
