Unique tradition, in which worship is done in honor of the dead body by considering it as Guru.

IndoreCadaveric Oath was conducted in the Hall of Anatomy Department after the White Coat Ceremony of the 2023 batch of MBBS First Year students of Index Medical College, Malvanchal University. In the program, Vice Dean of the college, Dr. P. Nyati, Dr. Vimal Modi and teachers and students of Anatomy worshiped the dead body kept in the department as per the rituals and offered flowers and garlands on it.

In the program, Index Group Chairman Suresh Singh Bhadauria said that first of all he told the family members of the person who donated his body that they all are great, who have made such a huge contribution towards human welfare. He said that the new students of Index Group have a new vision in the institute. The journey is beginning.

You should bring glory to your family along with the institute. He said that people consider their elders, or the person from whom they are inspired, as their guru and ideal, but for medical students, their first guru is the human body.

Vice Dean Dr. P. Nyati said that cadaveric oath is a unique tradition that is being practiced especially among the MBBS students. He said that the human body (cadaveric) is called the first teacher of every doctor because it is through the human body that medical students get information about professional principles, knowledge, conduct and altruistic behavior.
