Baglamukhi Temple Nalkheda: Navratri festival is going on these days in the world famous Maa Baglamukhi temple of Nalkheda located in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Every day thousands of devotees are arriving to worship Shakti. It is said that this temple situated on the banks of Lakhundar river was established in Mahabharata call.

Temple priest Kailash Narayan told that Baglamukhi Mata was established by Maharaja Yudhishthir for special meditation under the inspiration of Lord Krishna to achieve victory in Mahabharata. Tantra Sadhana is also performed during Navratri in the court of three-faced Mother Baglamukhi. Mother Lakshmi, Lord Krishna, Hanuman, Bhairav ​​and Goddess Saraswati are present in the Baglamukhi temple.

Baglamukhi temple of Nalkheda was known as Dehra. Turmeric and yellow colored worship materials have special significance. This is the only temple in the world where turmeric powder is offered along with standing turmeric in the goddess puja.

Adi Shankaracharya had installed the idol of Mother Goddess in Nepal and Datia. Whereas, in Nalkheda, Maa Baglamukhi has been seated in the form of Pitamber since time immemorial.

There is a trend of making Swastika on the back wall of Baglamukhi temple of Nalkheda along with the wish of Putra Ratna. Devotees say that after the fulfillment of their wishes, they perform Havan in the temple premises, in which they offer ‘hom’ of yellow mustard, turmeric, lotus gatta, sesame, barley, ghee and coconut. He says that by performing Havan in the temple, the chances of success doubles.

Pt. Vaibhav Vaishnav told that people come here for Tantra Sadhana in Maa Baglamukhi temple since Dwapar era. This is the reason why Baglamukhi Mata is called the goddess of Tantra. There are cremation grounds all around this temple located on the river bank. Gudravaan is situated to the west of the temple, graveyard to the east and Kachcha cremation ground to the south. People come here from far and wide for Tantric rituals. The idol of the temple is self-sufficient and awakened.
