MP Politics: Why did Congress have to change its candidate? Know the facts related to the second list.

Bhopal. Reshuffle of candidates continues in MP Assembly seats. Congress had earlier fielded Awadhesh Nayak on Datia seat. But when the party released the second list, the candidates were changed. Rajendra Bharti was given a chance again. Why after all? Let us shed light on this matter.

Ultimately, the Congress party had to cancel the ticket of its previously declared candidate Awadhesh Nayak from Datia district and declare Rajendra Bharti as its candidate. Datia candidate was changed in the second list. What actually happened was that there was discontent among Congress workers against Awadhesh Nayak, which weighed heavily on him, and Rajendra Bharti managed to get the ticket in the last round.

A large number of Congress workers started protesting only after Awadhesh Nayak, who left the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined the Congress, was made the candidate. Hundreds of workers of Datia had written an open letter to Kamal Nath and said that by making Awadhesh Nayak the party candidate, the party has deeply hurt the sentiments of the local workers.

Datia is one of the 66 seats where the Congress party has not won in the last three elections. Kamal Nath had entrusted the responsibility to Digvijay Singh to strengthen the party’s position on those weak seats. In the four-month tour, Diggi met several grassroots workers across all seats and had submitted the report to Nath only last month. After this, the decision was taken to field Awadhesh Nayak, but the Congress party was ignored by the original workers and had to face protests. Due to this, Congress was forced to change its candidate on Datia seat.
