Maher. Swami Devi Prasad Pandey, former head priest of Maihar Maa Sharda Shaktipeeth, has passed away at the age of 75. He was ill for a long time. For this he was also admitted to Delhi hospital. During treatment at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi, he became absorbed in God. There is a wave of mourning in Maihar due to Swami’s demise. Everyone is praying for the peace of his soul.
It is said about Swami Devi Prasad Pandey ji that he got involved in worship from the age of just 12 years. He never even went to the streets of Maihar, only used to go to the temple and from the temple to his home. It is said that Swami had dedicated his tongue at the feet of Mother Sharda thrice. Besides, Mata’s Aarti has also been composed by him. Pandit Devi Prasad Maharaj’s seat also used to be placed in the cave of the temple itself. Due to his unwell condition, his elder son Pawan Pandey Maharaj was taking charge of the worship in the temple for some days.
