Mp Government :Bhopal. On the occasion of National Handloom Day, Sant Ravidas, M.P. Commissioner-cum-Managing Director Sufia Farooqi Wali honored senior weavers in the Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation office by giving them shawl-shreefal.
Managing Director Vali said that National Handloom Day has been started from the year 2015 in the memory of the Swadeshi movement and those who ensured independence by tying India in the thread of unity. In this series, 9th National Handloom Day is being celebrated on 7th August.

Veli said that awareness campaign is being run to adopt handloom clothes in normal life. The purpose of celebrating Handloom Day is to economically strengthen the small and medium scale industry of handloom and to present it as a brand in the world.
Handloom being eco friendly has become the first choice of many people. The handloom industry is an important source of our livelihood. Weavers of the corporation’s handloom production centers Sehore, Sarangpur, Mandsaur, Maheshwar and Chanderi were honored at local centers as well.
