Lok Sabha Elections 2024: A major accident was narrowly avoided in Madhya Pradesh before the voting of Lok Sabha elections. A fire broke out in a truck carrying Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) going to Jabalpur on Thursday morning. Thankfully, there was no damage to the EVMs due to the fire. The accident happened near Agricultural University of Jabalpur. The fire brigade team extinguished the fire in time. The cause of the fire is said to be short circuit. Let us tell you that in the first phase in Madhya Pradesh, voting is to be held on April 19 in 6 seats – Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat, Sidhi, Jabalpur and Shahdol.

More than 15,000 employees were put on duty
More than 8000 security personnel have been deployed in Jabalpur to conduct peaceful elections. The Election Department deployed more than 15,000 employees for the elections. Voting material was distributed in two phases on Thursday. In the first phase, election material was distributed to the polling personnel for Patan, Bargi, Jabalpur East, Jabalpur North and Sihora assembly constituencies at 7:30 am. In the second shift, polling material was distributed to the polling personnel of Jabalpur Cantt, Jabalpur West and Panagar Assembly at 8:30 am.

18.94% voters will vote at 2139 centers
There are 19 candidates in the fray in Jabalpur. 2139 polling stations have been created. 170 sectors have been created. The number of vulnerable polling stations is 15, the number of critical polling stations is 482. There are 1894304 total voters. There are 961997 male voters and 93212 female voters. The number of voters joining for the first time is 38459, the number of senior voters who are above 85 years is 6666, the number of disabled voters is 2241.
