According to the information, the formalities of claim-objection have been completed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission in Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur. Proposal to increase electricity rate by 20 to 25 paise per unit

According to the information, the power companies had proposed an increase of 20 to 25 paise per unit in the electricity rate in front of the Regulatory Commission in November 2022, reflecting the losses and the increasing cost of power generation. After this, the commission has given final shape to the rate hike proposal after taking claims and objections from all the parties. Departmental officials say that with this increase, the government can get an additional revenue of Rs 500 crore.
