Bhopal ; You may have often heard that the Railways has imposed a fine of so much on this passenger, but you may never have heard that the Railways has also been fined. But this time you will definitely hear that the Railways has also been fined by the Commission. Yes, let us tell you that after finding the consumer’s complaint true, the Consumer Commission has imposed a compensation of Rs 25 thousand on the Railways. It has also been said that this amount will be given within two months.

Know what is the whole matter

Let us tell you that Vijay Kumar Bohare, a resident of Kolar, Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, had booked a ticket to and from Bhopal to Shirdi. On 28 February, he reached Rani Kamalapati station at the scheduled time to board the Jhelum Express. On reaching there we came to know that the train had been cancelled. After this, when Vijay went to get his ticket cancelled, the Railways deducted Rs 627 from two AC Third tickets worth Rs 3400. Vijay complained about this to IRCTC, but did not get a proper response from there. After this Bohare filed a petition in the District Consumer Commission. Acting on this, the Commission gave its verdict in favor of the consumer and imposed a compensation of Rs 25,000 on the Railways.

Commission ruled in favor of consumer

The Consumer Commission, while ruling in favor of the consumer, reprimanded the Railways and considered the cancellation of the train without notice and not refunding the entire fare amount as deficiency in service. Along with this, it was also said that due to the cancellation of the train, the passengers suffered mental distress and faced difficulty in commuting to the station. For this, Railways should return Rs 25,000 including mental compensation amount to the consumer within two months. This decision taken by the Commission has made it clear that the Constitution of India is very strong, here everyone has been given equal rights.
