Bhopal Master Plan 2031: Notification has not been issued, now any decision is expected only after the elections.

Bhopal. The chances of Master Plan 2031 being implemented this year are gone. Because the government has not yet issued a notification in this regard, so that the master plan can be implemented in a day or two. According to T&CP and Urban Administration Department, the code of conduct is likely to be implemented in a day or two, due to which the possibilities of its implementation have now been completely destroyed. According to those who lodged objections, the master plan is stuck for the fourth time. Therefore, the hope of implementing the current Bhopal Master Plan 2031 in its current format is also lost. The draft of the master plan will be prepared afresh depending on what happens after the assembly elections.

Notification has also not been issued

Local public representatives are also angry about the Bhopal Master Plan. BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma has expressed maximum opposition regarding this. Even two years ago, a hearing was held on claims and objections, but the master plan was not implemented. On June 2 this year, the government released the draft, in which three thousand and five objections were received. After continuous hearing on these, the Urban Development and Housing Department had sent the file to the office of Departmental Minister Bhupendra Singh, but till now no decision has been taken on it. No notification of any kind was issued regarding this.

This is the action taken so far regarding the master plan

The objection suggestions were heard in 6 phases. The first phase was heard from 9 to 11 August, the second phase from 16 to 18, the third phase from 21 to 25, the fourth phase from 28 to 29, the fifth phase from 31 to 1 September and the sixth phase from 4 to 5 September. Public representatives, farmers, common people and members of CREDAI had also expressed their displeasure regarding the objections.

Master plan will be handed over to the new government

According to T&CP officials, now any planning regarding the master plan can be done after the assembly elections but after that the Lok Sabha elections will come again. Only after the formation of a new government in the state, there can be any hope if the discussion regarding the master plan starts again.

Draft changed

About 3000 objections were ignored in the hearing. Only one minor change was made in the draft. In RG4 i.e. newly developed areas outside the city, where the base FAR or floor area ratio was proposed to be 0.25, it was increased to 0.50. Developers and town planners had demanded it to be at least 1.25. There was no change in land use and FAR even in the big pond and catchment areas of Kerava and Kaliyasot. The demand for increasing the base FAR in Arera Colony and Lime Kiln was also rejected. After this the department sent the file to the minister’s office.

MLA Sharma raised questions twice

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma on August 17 had called the master plan a deception for the people of the city. After this, questions were raised again recently.

Not likely to be implemented yet: According to KBS Chaudhary Kolsani, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, there is no possibility of the master plan being implemented at present.
