Spanish Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped in Jharkhand: A sensational news has come out from Dumka district of Jharkhand. A 45-year-old Spanish woman was allegedly gang-raped late Friday night. The incident took place in Kurumahat area of Hansdiha police station area. According to the information, the victim was out on a bike with her husband when she claimed that around 8-10 people stopped her and dragged her to a secluded place to commit the crime.
After the incident, the victim herself reached the hospital with her husband on her bike. The victim has been admitted by doctors. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
After Pakistan-Bangladesh, the pair has come to India
The Spanish couple has come to India on tourist visa. Both had reached Jharkhand from Spain via Pakistan and Bangladesh. Here they were staying in tents in Kunji village of Hansdiha police station area of Dumka. This information was not even given to the police. From here he had to go to Nepal. But late on Friday night, 8 to 10 people reached there and committed the gang rape.
Police took 2 suspects into custody
Dumka SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar said they have detained three people and further investigation is underway. He said that between 10:30 and 11 pm, the woman stopped a police van patrolling the area to seek help. He also suffered some scratches. The policemen took her to the hospital, where she told doctors that she had been raped. We are investigating the matter.
SP said that they are getting the medical examination of the victim done. He said that three people have been detained for questioning.
BJP raised the issue in the assembly
On the other hand, BJP has condemned the incident and called it shameful and unfortunate. State spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that women are not safe in Hemant Soren Part Two. The Spanish woman should get every possible help. The opposition has also raised this issue in the Assembly.
