Encounter in Pulwama: Security forces have again achieved major success in Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday night, a joint team of Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had an encounter with terrorists in Arihal village of Pulwama district of South Kashmir. This morning, the China Corps of the Indian Army deployed in Kashmir said that at least one terrorist was killed in the encounter. No casualties have been reported from the security forces. However, security forces fear that more terrorists are hiding in the area. Therefore, the search operation is still going on to find him.

According to media reports, the Army Intelligence team informed the Army that some terrorists are hiding in the New Colony area of Arihal village. Soon after, a joint team of police, 44 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF raided the area. Initially, forces suspected that at least two terrorists were hiding there. One of them has been killed. He is a native of Kashmir. The other is still missing. However, after the operation that continued overnight, it is feared that there may be more terrorists. Their number can be 10-12. The entire area is still cordoned off by forces to ensure that the terrorists cannot escape.
Terrorist module busted
In a separate incident, security forces busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and arrested two terror associates. Giving information, security force officials said that the police, along with the Army and CRPF teams, busted a terrorist module of LeT-TRF and recovered weapons from Tutigund forest on the disclosure of terrorist associates Parvez Ahmed Dar and Shaukat Ahmed Sherguzri. Officials said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway, adding that more arrests and seizures are expected in the case.
