Parliament Winter Session: Union Home Minister Amit Shah fiercely attacked Congress during the discussion on Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Amendment Bill and Reservation Amendment Bill in Rajya Sabha today. During this, he also mentioned the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Apart from this, he said that the BJP government broke the back of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that 7,217 terrorist incidents took place between 2004-2014, while only 2,197 terrorist incidents took place in the last 10 years.

Mentioned about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Supreme Court held that Article 370 was a temporary provision. If Article 370 was so appropriate, so necessary, then why did Nehru ji use the word temporary in front of it? Those who say that Article 370 is permanent are insulting the intention of the Constituent Assembly and the Constitution.

He further said that the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India was delayed because one person (Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru) was given the responsibility. Now Congress also has objection to the decision of the Supreme Court. I cannot convince Congress and other opposition parties because I have dignity.

The Union Home Minister said that 24 seats have been reserved in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. I’m saying it again. Pakistan occupied Kashmir is ours and no one can snatch it from us. Apart from this, he appreciated the decision of the Supreme Court on upholding the validity of the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
