Jammu-Kashmir: Three terrorists associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba organization in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir have been arrested with arms and ammunition in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. According to police officials, during a checking operation at Kalgai near Jhula Foot Bridge, a joint team of Baramulla Police, 13 Sikhli and 185 Bn BSF stopped three suspicious people carrying bags from Kamalkot towards NHW.

Police officers gave information

Giving information, police officials said that they were identified as Jamir Ahmed Khande and Mohammad Naseem Khande, residents of Madiyan Kamalkote. During the search, security personnel recovered three Chinese grenades and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh from them. A case was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Uri. During sustained interrogation, the suspects revealed that the illegally obtained hand grenades and money were received from Manzoor Ahmed Bhatti, resident of Madiyan Kamalkote.

Bhatti had allegedly provided these materials for the purpose of carrying out possible terrorist activities. After this, Manzoor Ahmed Bhatti was taken for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to supplying illegally obtained grenades and money to individuals for carrying out terrorist acts. He also revealed that he had deposited a hand grenade and Rs 2.17 lakh at a place near his residence.

Police said they were working as terrorist associates and were linked to the banned terrorist organization Lashkar/TRF. TRF or The Resistance Front is an organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
