The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken major action ahead of the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA has arrested a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed. It has been identified as Mohammad Ubaid Malik of Kupwara district. Mohammad was in constant touch with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Ubaid Malik. According to media reports, the investigation revealed that the accused was passing on secret information, especially about the movement of troops and security forces, to the Pak-based commander.
NIA recovered many documents
The NIA has also recovered several incriminating documents from the possession of the accused showing his involvement in furtherance of terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Such people along with terrorist organizations and over ground workers share important information of India with Pakistan. Also, these organizations also collect large consignments of narcotics, cash, weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and try to execute terror conspiracies in India.
Terrorist attacks are mostly carried out by targeting minorities and security forces personnel. Terrorist organizations make every effort to disturb the peace and communal harmony in India. Not only this, now terrorist organizations are rapidly expanding terrorist activities through social media as well. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is continuously engaged in action against such organizations.

NIA raided Jammu and Kashmir
Last Saturday i.e. on May 20, the National Investigation Agency had conducted a search operation at 15 places in 7 districts. According to media reports, the National Investigation Agency had taken this action to stop the ongoing terrorist funding by Jamaat-e-Islami in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA officials said that NIA teams are conducting search operations in Gussu, Rajpora, Awantipora and Tral.
