Rain wreaks havoc in Gujarat too

In Gujarat, the IMD has issued ‘Red Alert’ for Valsad, Bhavnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli and ‘Orange Alert’ for Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli, Jamnagar, Gir Somnath and Kutch, with heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted over the next two days. Due to incessant rains on Saturday, traffic was disrupted due to water entering the engines of vehicles. There was a huge jam on National Highway 48 in Gujarat, due to which people had to face a lot of trouble. Navsari and Junagadh remained the most affected districts. In Junagadh city, dozens of vehicles and animals were washed away by the strong current of water.

What did the Uttarkashi District Magistrate say

Uttarkashi District Magistrate Abhishek Rohila said that due to heavy rains in the district, more than 50 houses in Purola, Barkot and Dunda have been badly damaged and more than 50 roads have been blocked. At the same time, he told that electricity supply has also come to a standstill in more than 40 villages and farmers’ crops have also suffered a lot.

Yamuna river water level increased in Delhi

The water level of Yamuna at Delhi’s Old Railway Bridge is flowing above the danger mark and has reached a level of 205.81 metres. After heavy rains in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, water has been released from Hathinikund barrage into the Yamuna river, due to which the water level is rising.
