Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh: At present, the whole of India is mourning due to heavy rains, but this time the rains in Himachal Pradesh have come as a disaster. Meteorologists believe that the rainfall in the state has broken the record of 60 years. Heavy rains claimed 8 lives on Monday. After the monsoon arrived in the state on June 24, 63 people have died so far.

It is currently raining heavily in the entire Himachal Pradesh. In this episode, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Tuesday in Shimla, Mandi, Bilaspur, Kullu, Keylong, Solan, Nahan and Kinnaur districts. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains in these places today. On the other hand, Orange alert has been issued for Chamba, Dharamshala, Hamirpur and Una districts of the state. That is, there is a possibility of heavy rain here too. Due to heavy rains, the Kullu district administration has also canceled the Yatra of Shrikhand Mahadev. The stranded passengers will be brought back as soon as the weather clears up. On Monday, 100 bighas of land was washed away due to cloudburst in Lagghati of Kullu district.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will conduct an aerial survey of the damage caused in Kullu and Lahaul Spiti on Tuesday. Apart from this, rescue has been started on Tuesday morning to evacuate 300 people trapped in Chandratal of Lahaul Spiti district. For this, the help of the Indian Air Force is being taken. Houses on the banks of Beas river have been evacuated as a result of rising water level due to incessant rains in Mandi district. District SP Soumya Sambasivan said that people living across the Beas river have been rescued and sent to a relief centre.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who reached Mandi on Tuesday morning, said that it may take 24 hours to streamline the situation. Drinking water arrangements are being made at some places in the market. Along with this, the situation of water logging in the city is being rectified. 1300 to 1400 buses have been suspended in the entire state. The most serious situation remains in Kullu district, where all roads are closed. State government buses are parked at safe places, due to which there has been no damage to the buses. Wherever people were stranded in the state, they have been evacuated.

Due to heavy rains, most of the roads in the state are lying closed. Due to the closure of Kalka-Shimla Highway, passengers are standing since late night at Parwanoo, which is called the gateway of Himachal Pradesh. It is being told that thousands of people are waiting for the Kalka-Shimla National Highway to open. All the milk-bread trains going to nearby cities including Shimla have also gone back from Parwanoo. Due to this the problems of the people have increased.
