Himachal Weather Update: The havoc of rain in Himachal Pradesh is not taking the name of stopping. The incessant rains for the last few days have completely thrown the life of the people out of gear. Landslides, cloud bursts, rock slides and roads, bridges and houses being washed away are being reported continuously from different parts of the state. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in the state even today.
So far so much rain in many parts of the state
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains lashed many parts of the state, with Bilaspur receiving 181 mm of rain, followed by Barthin 160 mm, Shimla 132 mm, Mandi 118 mm, Sundernagar 105 mm, Palampur 91 mm and Solan. It has received 77 mm of rain. As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges in Shimla, Mandi and Solan districts have been closed for two days.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for heavy rains on Thursday i.e. even today, as well as yellow alerts for August 25 and 26 and flash floods in nine districts of Shimla, Sirmaur, Kangra, Chamba, Mandi, Hamirpur, Solan, Bilaspur and Kullu. issued a warning.
With over 200 roads blocked, a total of 530 roads are now closed in the state. The Shimla-Kalka Highway 5 connecting Shimla and Chandigarh was again closed near Chowki Mor near Parwanoo due to fresh landslides. 213 roads were blocked in Mandi district, 58 in Shimla and 50 in Bilaspur.

Several roads in the city were also closed due to the landslide, including the vital Tutikandi-Dhalli bypass. Traffic was completely stopped on Mehli Junja road. The Public Works Department is engaged in repairing the road so that traffic can be restored at the earliest. At the same time, power supply has also come to a standstill due to uprooting of trees at many places. Due to this people have to face a lot of trouble.
