Young man is pushed out of a moving express train: argument over lack of space, passengers catch defendant

Gannaur/Sonipat: There was a dispute between two youths over seats in the main compartment of the Hapa Super Express train that was traveling from Mata Vaishno Devi to Hapa in Gujarat. The fight escalated so much that one youth pushed the other youth off the train that was traveling between Ganaur and Rajlugarhi railway station. The young man died in this accident. After this, the passengers in the compartment caught the young man who had pushed him and handed him over to Delhi GRP. After receiving information about the accident, Ganaur GRP police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it to Sonipat Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The accused was arrested by Ganaur GRP from Delhi GRP post.

The deceased was traveling to Delhi in a shared compartment.

According to the information, 20-year-old Zaheer Khan, a resident of Rathora Kalan, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, used to work as a laborer. He traveled to Delhi with his companion Anees in the main compartment of the Hapa Super Express train. During this time, Zaheer Khan had an argument with Surendra, a resident of Shahpur Kandi Pathankot Punjab, in the train because he was sitting on the seat. The fight escalated so much that Surendra pushed Zaheer Khan out of the moving train between Gannaur-Rajlugarhi railway station. Zaheer Khan died on the spot after falling from the moving train. The other passengers in the train caught Surendra and beat him severely. The passengers then handed it over to Delhi GRP.

The case was registered based on Anees’ complaint

GRP station in-charge Mahabir Tomar said that the police had registered a murder case against accused Surendra based on the statement of Zaheer Khan’s associate Anees. Accused Surendra was arrested by Delhi Police GRP. The accused will be produced in court on Wednesday. Zaheer Khan’s postmortem will also take place at Rohtak PGI on Wednesday.

Surendra wanted to go to Rajkot

Surendra, who is accused of Zaheer Khan’s murder, has a car repair shop in Rajkot, Gujarat. He had traveled from Pathankot to Rajkot Gujarat by sitting in the train but on the way he had an argument with Zaheer Khan because he was sitting on the seat and in a fit of rage he pushed Zaheer Khan out of the moving train. Now the accused Surendra is in police custody.
