In light of community tensions, the DC has appealed to the general public in Gurugram District not to post on social media such posts that offend a person’s religious feelings or threaten religious harmony. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said that with any kind of indecent language, no video, photo or recording should be posted with intent to offend any particular person, caste or religion. If an objectionable post is made by a person or entity, legal action will be taken according to the Rules. He said no one should spread false rumors on social media platforms. If someone spreads rumors on social media or makes false comments about a person’s religion or caste, the police will take strict action.
