Teachers working at various Haryana state colleges took part in fury marches at various district headquarters on Sunday under the banner of the Haryana State College Teachers Association to restore old pensions.

Union President Dr. Amit Chaudhary said that at the call of Pension Restoration Sangharsh Samiti Haryana, the Haryana Government College Teachers Association participated in today’s tantrum by joining forces with various workers’ organizations. Arun Kumar, Secretary General Dr. Pratibha Chauhan, Organization Secretary Dr. Sunil Kumar, Joint Secretary Jyoti Dahiya and Finance Minister Mrs. Priyanka led the angry march at various district headquarters.

He said the government is considering a pension as a reward. Pension is not a matter of clemency that depends on the will of the employer. It is governed by the 1972 Rules. The pension is not a voluntary payment but a payment for service rendered. It is a measure of socio-economic justice for those people who have worked hard for the employer during their prime, knowing that they will not be left alone in their old age. Old-age pension is every worker’s right and the union will not hesitate to make any move.
