The property tax department is preparing a list of people who have embezzled lakhs of rupees from the company. Notices will be sent to them before Diwali. If he still doesn’t pay the bill, strict action will be taken against him.

Corporation Commissioner Jitendra Singh recently issued orders to the tax department. So far, around Rs 15.8 crore taxes have been deposited in the company. The usage fee is around Rs 3.66 crore. While the target for property tax payment in the budget has been set by the city administration at around Rs 55 billion. This is now 35 Crore Rupees.

Got a discount of 20 Crores Rupees

The city administration’s tax department checked all invoices. It was found that under the relaxation given to consumers by CM Manohar Lal, around Rs 20 crore has been waived. This will also have a major impact on the city government’s revenue. Officials say that this amount is very high and as a result, many development works will also be affected.

Bills worth Rs 8,000 crore were waived across the state

CM Manohar Lal had announced this in Chandigarh just a month ago. Many sections were granted relief. CM had ordered to waive interest and penalty on property tax. The orders said that property tax of the citizens amounting to about Rs 8,000 crore is outstanding and interest and penalties amounting to about Rs 8,000 crore are accruing thereon. This decision by the government will directly save property owners around Rs 8,000 crore. In addition, a 15 percent discount on the deposit of the principal amount of the outstanding property tax was also announced. Property owners will get an additional benefit of around Rs 1,200 crore after getting the exemption. This discount is valid until December 31st.

2.25 lakh passes in the city

Three years ago, the company conducted a property tax survey. The total pass was around 1 lakh 70,000. Now these IDs have increased to around 2.25 lakhs. However, more than half of ID invoices remain incorrect. People are sweating to fix the problem. For this reason it is also not possible to pay the bills. If the situation continues like this, the company will have to organize camps again to pay the bills. Currently, invoices are only paid at the counter of the company’s office.
