Rohtak Lok Sabha: Hooda family has been the face nine times in Congress’ 11 victories, the challenge continues

Ravindra Rathi, Bahadurgarh: After the country’s independence, elections for the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat were held 18 times. In these elections, the Congress could win a maximum of 11 times, Lok Dal or Janata Dal four times and Jan Sangh or BJP three times. The credit for Congress’ dominance in the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat goes to the Hooda family. Three generations of this family have reached the Lok Sabha by winning from here eight times. Ranbir Hooda won from here in 1952 and 1957, Bhupendra Hooda in 1991, 1996, 1998 and 2004 and Deependra Hooda in 2005, 2009 and 2014.
