Rohtak: Havildar Sudhir was cremated with state honors at Bhaini Chandrapal village. Sudhir, 33, was stationed in Ordnance Maintenance Platoon 71 at Siachen Glacier. He returned home on November 25th after taking leave from the army until December 23rd. He had stomach problems. He got himself examined in Maham. He was then admitted to Rohtak PGI for treatment. He was later admitted to a private hospital in Rohtak. He died during treatment on Saturday evening.

The family members informed the affected army unit. After receiving the news of Siachen, army personnel from Hisar and Haryana police officials from Meham reached Bhaini Chandrapal village to greet him. The villagers said goodbye to him with teary eyes. Army soldiers laid a wreath on his remains and performed last rites with state honors. Sudhir has two sons. The older son is 11 years old and the younger one is 6 years old. One child is in fifth grade, the other son is in second grade. Sudhir’s elder brother is also posted in the army. Sudhir’s father Mahendra Singh is retired from Haryana Roadways Department. Sudhir’s mother and wife are housewives. His latest trip was attended by Aam Aadmi Party leader Vikas Nahra, BJP leader Takdeer Kharkada and people from various social, religious and political organizations of the region.
