Rewari: 45-year-old Jawahar Singh, a resident of Kharkhari village, who was working as an ASI in the 144th Battalion of CRPF, died suddenly while on duty in Srinagar. On Tuesday, his remains reached the village, where the soldier was given a final farewell. Hundreds of people were present at the funeral. The CRPF contingent accompanying the body saluted the soldier. On behalf of the administration, Rampura Police Station Superintendent Mukesh Kumar paid tributes by placing a floral wreath on the mortal remains.

Late Jawahar Singh is survived by 15-year-old daughter Khushi, 17-year-old son Jatin, his wife Neelam, 80-year-old father Ramchandra and 75-year-old mother Vidya Devi. CRPF officer Mahavir Singh said that Jawahar Singh suffered a heart attack while on duty. He was rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
