Rewari: The anti-corruption bureau team on Friday caught a sub-inspector of Rampura police station while he was taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. After the arrest, the ACB team completed the necessary procedure and took the accused away. Measures were taken to initiate proceedings against him.

Recently, a hotel owner was attacked and seriously injured in Hussainpur. Based on the hotel owner’s statement, the police had opened a case against several people. It is alleged that SI Lal Singh demanded a bribe to get one of the accused Jatin out of the case. He had taken bribes from Jatin’s family. He then demanded another 20,000 rupees. Even after accepting the bribe, Jatin was arrested. After being produced before the court, he was remanded in custody. Even later, Lal Singh demanded Rs 20,000 from Jatin’s family to get him out of the case. The family complained about this to the ACB team.

The ACB team sent a member of Jatin’s family to hand over Rs 20,000 powder to the SI. When SI Lal Singh was contacted over phone, he asked him to come behind the police station. When he stole Rs 20,000 from behind the police station, he was caught by the ACB team there. Later, he was taken to the ACB office and necessary procedures were completed.

The police personnel had no idea

The police station personnel were unaware of the ACC SI’s arrest for half an hour. Everything was normal at the police station. The ACB team had gone behind the police station after the hunt. SHO Shivcharan said that SI Lal Singh is the IO of Jatin’s case. He has no knowledge of the ACB’s actions and their demand for money.
