Panipat: The main accused in the case of murder of a woman, gang rape of three women and robbery at two camps in a village in Panipat hit his head on the grille made of thick iron bars attached to the barrack in Panipat Jail. Attempts to commit suicide. The main defendant had previously attempted suicide by swallowing sulfas. The accused was treated at Meerut Medical College and after completing the treatment there, the police took the main accused to Panipat. The prison administration has admitted the accused to the Panipat Civil Hospital. The defendant’s condition is stable.
It is announced that police have arrested Rajiv alias Raju, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, on charges of murder, robbery and rape. When the police arrested the accused, he tried to commit suicide by consuming poisonous substances but survived and was arrested by the police and sent to Panipat Jail. Currently, the accused Rajeev alias Raju is lodged in Panipat district jail. Here, DSP Jail Geeta Rani said in the complaint that Rajiv alias Raju, resident of Batra Colony, Muzaffarnagar Hall, Panipat, Uttar Pradesh, was remanded in different sections at Panipat Jail on October 12. When accused Rajeev alias Raju was kept in the prison barracks, he attempted suicide by injuring himself by hitting his head on the railing of the barracks. However, the prison administration controlled him and prevented him from doing so. Based on the complaint, a case of abetment to suicide was registered against the accused Rajeev alias Raju.
