Panipat: Husband married for second time, first wife jumped into canal

Panipat: A woman jumped into the Delhi Parallel Canal in Panipat under suspicious circumstances. When a passerby saw the woman drowning, he risked his life by jumping into the canal and somehow pulling the drowning woman out. The police were then informed about the incident. The police were on site, took control of the situation and inquired about the woman’s well-being. His statement was then recorded.

The victim woman said she was a resident of Mukhija Colony. Her husband married a woman from Ramnagar three months ago. Furthermore, the husband took a loan and gave him Rs 3.5 lakh. Her husband drives an autorickshaw and has two children. She tried to convince her husband many times, even complained to the police, but neither the police listened nor her husband accepted her. Now the man has separated from her and the children and lives with his second wife. Because of this, he tried to commit suicide by jumping into the canal. Here, Asandh Naka police have initiated investigation in the case based on the victim’s statement.
