Jind news:A case of embezzlement of Rs 21 lakh from two people on the pretext of appointing a block development and panchayat officer has come to light in UP. Following the victim’s complaint, Julana police station registered a case against two persons on various charges including fraud and initiated an investigation.

Sunil Kumar, who works at Varde Devi College in Brahminwas village, is originally a resident of Ambedkar Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh. Sunil Kumar said in his police complaint that he has been working here for 15 years. Sunil Gupta from UP’s Mau district used to come to him to get himself enrolled in college. During this time they developed good relations as they belonged to the same state. And friendship developed. In January 2019, the above-mentioned Sunil came to Julana and spoke to him about the Block Development Officer post in UP and said that he had contacts with big officials and leaders in Uttar Pradesh. It will provide employment for me and all my friends or relatives. For this he charged Rs 16 lakh per person. The victim also discussed this with his friend Subhash Chandra Yadav, Bhadohi district UP and Subhash also agreed to get a job with the victim. After that, accused Sunil called her to his house and in late February 2019, he met her at her house. Where another person named Akhilesh Gupta was sitting. Sunil introduced him as his brother and said that both of you should raise 16 lakh rupees each. I’ll get you both a job.

The victim states that he was working a private job and wanted to take a government job. In this context, he helped the defendant transfer money through banking transactions from March 1, 2019 to December 9, 2019. The defendant repeatedly asked him to look for a job soon. Then the Corona period began in the country. Even after that, when he didn’t get the job, he started demanding his money back, following which the accused returned around Rs 900,000 and said that there was a legal case against the post of Block Development Officer. That’s why it takes longer to find a job. He also said that you didn’t trust him, so he gave you the money back, but he will fulfill his promise soon. Afterwards, the victims said yes with some hope. There have been ongoing discussions with him since 2021. But when they saw that the work was not done, they began to hesitate in demanding the money back again. The last time he visited the defendant’s house, it was locked and the neighbors said they had been out for several days. Julana police station has registered a case against UP residents Sunil Gupta and Akhilesh on various charges including cheating. The police are investigating the matter

Julana police station investigating officer Ram Roop said the victim lodged a complaint of embezzlement of Rs 21 lakh on the pretext of getting a job. On this basis, proceedings were opened against two people. The matter is currently under investigation.
