Mahesh Kumar: The candidates for the general elections in 2024 have started preparations. The future candidates from different parties and independent candidates are campaigning vigorously, moving from village to village. In such a situation, many young leaders are preparing to challenge former Minister of Education Rambilas Sharma and current MLA Rao Dansingh.

Senior BJP leader Rambilas Sharma and MP and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Rao Dansingh dominate the gathering in Mahendragarh. Former education minister Rambilas Sharma became an MLA five times in the seat, while Rao Dansingh became an MLA for the fourth time by winning the 2019 election. The BJP’s Rambilas Sharma and Congress’ Rao Dansingh are likely to win a candidacy in the 2024 general election. But this time the path for both leaders in the elections will not be easy. Candidates from other parties and candidates in independent elections have already shown their full strength. The youth assembly is ready to challenge both leaders for their hard work. Surendra Kaushik from INLD party, Ramesh Paldi from JJP and Dr. Manish Yadav got tickets from the AAP party. At the same time, SDM Sandeep Kumar, who came third in the 2019 elections, and Balwan Fauji, who ran in the Lok Sabha elections, are also preparing to contest the general elections this time from Mahendragarh.

Mahendragarh’s backwardness can wreck the boats of experienced leaders

The district of Mahendragarh is counted under the backward region of the state. On the other hand, former Education Minister of Mahendragarh Vidhansabha Rambilas Sharma and current MLA Rao Dansingh have an umbrella. But according to the stature of both heads of state, no development work could be done in the Mahendragarh Assembly. Due to a lack of development work in Mahendragarh, there is public resentment towards both leaders. People are now looking for a new face. To capitalize on the people’s displeasure with the two leaders, the assembly’s prospective nominees campaigned loudly in public, blaming both leaders for Mahendragarh’s backwardness. People’s attachment to future parliamentary candidates is also increasing. People are constantly connecting with new leaders. Things won’t be easy for BJP leader Rambilas Sharma and Congress leader Rao Dansingh in the 2024 election.

The share of the votes of both top politicians decreases continuously.

BJP and Congress share of votes in Mahendragarh Assembly steadily decreases. The main reason for this is the lack of development in the city. In the 2014 general election, BJP leader Ram Bilas Sharma received 83,724 votes. Ram Bilas Sharma benefited fully from the Modi wave and the BJP’s claim to the post of prime minister. But in the 2019 elections, the former education minister suffered a crushing defeat. The BJP leader received less than half the votes compared to last time. Rambilas Sharma received only 36,278 votes in the 2019 general election. The BJP’s share of the vote fell to only 25.30 percent. The condition of Congress leader Rao Dansingh is similar. In 2014 he received 49233 votes. While in 2019 only 46478 votes were queried. His share of the vote fell to 32.43 percent.
