Haryana: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal appealed to the people of the state to participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections on May 25. Anurag Aggarwal held a review meeting with the officials on polling arrangements where he informed that 19,812 polling stations have been set up at 10,363 locations in the state. This includes 13,000 588 polling stations in rural areas and 6,000 224 polling stations in urban areas. Voting booths have been set up at 2,400 locations in cities and 7,963 locations in villages.

The code of conduct came into force with the announcement of the elections

Anurag Aggarwal said that with the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule by the Election Commission on March 16, the model code of conduct came into force. Sixth phase elections are scheduled to be held in the state on May 25, 2024. The notification will be made on April 29th. The last date for submitting nominations is May 6th. Nominations will be considered on May 7th. Candidates have until May 9 to withdraw their nominations. Extensive arrangements have been made to conduct the elections peacefully. Necessary instructions were also given through a meeting with the political parties participating in the Lok Sabha elections.

The public notice will be inserted on the day the nomination is filed

Anurag Aggarwal said that as per Election Commission guidelines, public notice will be inserted before 11 am on the day of filing of nomination. It should be written in English or the official language of the States. This has to be displayed in the offices of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and other public places like Panchayat Samiti, Gram Panchayat etc. No details may be omitted from the report. The number of voters in the age group of 18-19 years is 3 lakh 65 thousand 504 who will vote for the first time. A candidate can spend a maximum of Rs 95 lakh for the elections. To do this, he must create a separate account and submit the details of his election expenditure to the Commission within one month of the election.
