Karnal: Rajpal, who was posted as ASI in CRPF in Mizoram, Manipur, died of a heart attack while on election duty. Shaheed was working as a storeroom manager when his health suddenly deteriorated and he was admitted to Lavang Talai Hospital. After examination, doctors declared him dead. The incident occurred on November 30 and he was brought to his native village of Sambhali on Sunday. He was cremated here with state honors.

The army officer said that as per government records, Rajpal was around 48.5 years old and had joined the army in 1994. Now he was martyred after almost 30 years of service. The soldiers always carried out their duty honestly. Punctuality was one of his habits. Martyr Rahul’s son, a B.Sc. studied at Delhi University, inaugurated his father’s last rites. He hugged his remains and cried a lot. Every eye that was present at his last farewell cried. Mrs. Santosh was also saddened by her husband’s martyrdom. Villagers and relatives consoled the grieving family. The martyr’s final procession was held with chants of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram. Army soldiers saluted him and fired into the air. The army officials presented the tricolor, which was wrapped around Shahid’s body, to his son.

Two months of vacation were sanctioned

Rajpal had applied for two maternity leaves from the army officials. His leave was approved after the elections. Who was supposed to come home after the elections, but fate had something else in mind. His mortal remains reached home in place of Rajpal. However, he had spoken to his family members last week and told them that he would be coming home soon. The martyr’s daughter went to Canada to study. While the son studies in Delhi. He left his two children in the care of his wife Santosh Devi.

At his final farewell, everyone’s eyes cried

As soon as Rajpal’s mortal remains reached home, there was a huge uproar in the village. Everyone was upset about the incident. The family members couldn’t hold back their tears. Many social and political personalities took part in his final farewell. BJP district president Yogendra Rana, MLA Dharampal Gondar and former MLA Bhagwan Das reached Kabir Panthi. He placed flowers at the feet of the martyr. He described his ordeal as a great loss to the country and family that could not be repaired. He prayed to God to give the victim’s family strength to bear the loss.
