Jhajjar: Two underage children who were walking with their grandfather in the Badli area drowned in the canal. After the police received the information, they went to the scene and began searching for the children. The police, with the help of divers, pulled a young man out of the water after about nine hours, while the body of another youth was also found afterwards. Both bodies were autopsied and handed over to their families.
According to the information, Ranbir Singh had gone to the farm near Badli NCR canal with his grandchildren on Saturday night. He started to work, and the grandchildren played in the field. NCR Minor passes near the farm. When playing, the children reached the minor. One slipped his foot and he drowned. The other drowned while trying to save him. The third child went to his grandfather and informed him of the matter. The police were then informed. After the police received the information, they reached the site and started rescue work with the help of the villagers, but it was too late. Even after hours of operation, the child was not found, so the dive team was called late at night. After an overnight search, the body of a child was recovered around 6am and the body of another child around 8am. The bodies were taken to Bahadurgarh Civil Hospital. After the autopsy, the police handed over the bodies to the relatives.
The deceased were eight-year-old Yash and nine-year-old Tarun. Both cousins were the only ones. Due to his death, family members are in poor condition and crying. There is also a sad mood in the neighborhood. Please note that NCR Minor is deep and the water flows very quickly there. Every year many people die by drowning in this minor. The police draw attention to this, but the accidents still don’t stop. DSP Gulab Singh said that two boys drowned at NCR Minor in Badli in the evening. The bodies of both were recovered in the morning. This matter will be dealt with according to the rules.
