Kurukshetra News:Haryana State Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation Limited Chairman Panchkula and Shahbad MLA Ramkaran said that this year, for the first time, the mill has introduced an advance token system through which farmers can pay for the sugarcane carts at the sugarcane yard of the mill at home. The tokens can be placed based on the numbers so that there is no traffic jam in the mill. Emptying the sugarcane truck will take less time for the farmers and there will be huge time saving. With this system, the mill also receives fresh sugarcane, which increases the mill’s sugar yield.
Ramkaran was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 40th crushing season of Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mill on Thursday. Earlier, Shahbad Chairman and MLA Ramkaran officially inaugurated the 40th crushing season 2023-24 of Shahbad Sugar Mill. In this inaugural meeting, President of Haryana State Cooperative Sugar Mill Federation Limited and Shahbad MLA Ramkaran Kala, Chairman of Scheduled Caste Commission Ravindra Baliala, Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, Managing Director of Shahbad Sugar Mill Limited Shahbad, Rajiv Prasad inserted sugarcane into the machine and I smashed it in this session. The work has begun.
Shahbad Chairman and MLA Ramkaran said that the Haryana government gives highest prices to sugarcane farmers. During the tenure of this government, special attention was paid to improving the economic condition of the sugar mills. Following government orders, the Ministry of Agriculture is promoting new, improved varieties of sugarcane. Farmers will benefit from the introduction of this improved seed variety. He said that the state government had timely paid the price of sugarcane supplied to the mills by sugarcane farmers in all cooperative sugar mills in the state in the last crushing season. The government continuously advocates for the interests of farmers and implements programs. In addition, Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mill has received 29 technical efficiency awards at the national level in other resort areas and the factory has been awarded four times at the state level.
Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma welcomed Chairman and MLA of Shahbad Ramkaran to inaugurate the crushing season of Shahbad Sugar Factory and said that like previous years, this factory will reach new heights with new records this year too. He said that in the last crushing season, Shahabad Sugar Factory produced 7.75 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 74.24 lakh quintals of sugarcane and exported 4.63 crore units of power by recovering 10.44 per cent sugar, which the mill earned an income of ₹18.51 crore. The mill aims to crush 74 million quintals of sugarcane, achieve 10.75 percent sugar recovery, produce 8.80 million quintals of sugar and export about 5 million quintals of electricity in the 2023-24 crushing season.
