Hisar: The body of a youth missing from Jind for four days was recovered from a canal near Pali village. Police conducted an autopsy on the body and handed it over to the family members. In this case, following a complaint from the relatives of the deceased, the police registered a murder case against an unknown youth and initiated an investigation.

23-year-old Naveen, a resident of Krishna Nagar in Jind district, had gone for a walk after having dinner at home on Diwali evening. When he returned home late at night, his family members searched for him but could not find any trace of him. Naveen’s father Surendra lodged a complaint in this regard at the Jind city police station. Police registered a missing person case and started searching for him. His body was found in the Hisar Major canal near Pali village on Thursday evening. When the villagers informed the police, the Narnaund police were at the spot. He was identified from some cell phone numbers found in his clothing. He contacted his family members, called them on site and had the body identified. The police then sent his body to Hansi General Hospital for an autopsy. Injury marks were found on the head of the deceased Naveen. Based on his father’s statement, the police registered a murder case against an unknown youth and started investigations. No defendant has been arrested in this case at this time. Investigating officer Jasveer said that post-mortem of the body was conducted and handed over to the family members and a murder case was registered at Jind police station. The matter is being investigated in detail.
