The Vice President addressed farmers as the chief guest at the inauguration of the three-day Agricultural Development Fair 2023 organized by Haryana Agricultural University and Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department on Sunday. His wife Sudesh Dhankhar was also with him. Vice President Dhankhar also visited the stands at the fair and found out about the changes and research work in the agricultural sector.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Vice President described farmers as food donors and worshipers and said that these farmers are the backbone of the Indian economy. India was one of the five countries that had everyone wondering what would happen to them, but due to the hard work of farmers, India is now the fifth superpower in the world. Farmers have brought change in the country and farmers will drive these changes and soon India will be number 1 in the world in 2047. For this purpose, farmers should ensure an increase in the price of agricultural products through trade in agricultural products. He said they should ensure their progress by increasing the value of agricultural products through agricultural produce trade.

Vice President Dhankhar said that he welcomes the new thinking of today’s young generation. Young people from IIMs and IITs with packages worth crores of rupees are resigning today, even officials in big government offices are resigning to take care of milk and vegetable business. The country’s greatest potential today lies in the agricultural sector. While giving advice to the farmers, he said that they should produce good products from their fields and also bring them to the market themselves. If you add value after growing crops yourself, it is beneficial for the farmer. Farmers’ progress will double during the day and quadruple at night. The value added work for the farmers can be done from Haryana as sufficient milk, curd and ghee are available and the youth are lucky in the process.

Vice President Dhankhar said that farmers had changed their tools on their own, now new technologies have been added. He said this will bring revolutionary changes. World trade is increasing. Regarding coarse grains, he said the innovations that have taken place are visible. He said that next time he would come to the fair with a full-day program. The future of the country is bright because the farmer is hardworking, our farmer also produces soldiers and officers. Now farmers also have to understand the business.

Praised the Haryana players

The Vice President praised the players of Haryana at the Asian Games and said that India managed to win more than 100 medals at the Asian Games for the first time. Of these medals, players from Haryana have won a third, which is a major achievement. He said that Haryana’s milk, ghee and curd had a unique power because no one else was able to do the work that the Haryana players did.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar invited all progressive farmers to the Vice President’s House and said that they would be given awards there.
