Gurugram: Farmer suffered a loss of Rs 20 lakhs when he got a loan for mushroom cultivation

Gurugram: A farmer was cheated out of 20 lakh rupees by a company representative by taking out a loan to grow mushrooms. The broker deceived the farmer and got the loan sanctioned fraudulently using his documents and transferred the amount to his account. Upon receiving the complaint, Sadar Police Station registered a case and launched an investigation.

Mahendra Lal, a resident of Palwal’s Hathin, said he contacted Naveen Kumar from Sohna to get a mushroom plant installed. Naveen Kumar is in touch with many companies and not only takes care of the net cultivation of crops and mushrooms for the farmers but also provides them loans from the bank. While talking about the mushroom plant, he asked Naveen for a farming loan. Then, at Naveen’s behest, Mahendra Lal gave him the documents of him and his son Pradeep. Naveen received a loan of 20 lakh rupees on behalf of him and his son Pradeep. By opening it, he had the loan amount transferred to a fake bank account. From there, Naveen transferred this amount to his bank account. The farmer found out about this fake when he received a check book from HDFC Bank. It had his name on it, while the cell phone number and email ID belonged to someone else. It also had the address of the SS Square of Sector 47 written on it. When contacted on the provided mobile number, it was found that this number belongs to Naveen. Sadar Police Station registered one case and launched an investigation.
