Fatehabad: On the orders of Marketing Board Chief Administrator, Bhiwani DMEO Shyam Sundar’s team raided rice mills in Ratia city area as well as rural areas on Saturday. During this period, many of Ratia’s rice mills were fined thousands of rupees for not keeping proper records of rice cultivation. Information was received that wagons of rice were being unloaded directly at the rice mills. Overall, something is wrong. The team raided the town of Ratia and surrounding villages.
The raid team imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakh 35,000 125 on a mill in Ratia, Rs 2 lakh on another mill, Rs 3 lakh 10,000 775 on other mills in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh 20,000 on another rice mill. Shyam Sundar, DMEO of Bhiwani Marketing Board, said that his team raided five millers in Ratia and imposed a fine of Rs 16 lakh 25,900. The Chief Administrator had received information that the department was being cheated of crores of rupees in marketing fees by the mill operators in the area through direct purchase of crops. Based on this, a team was formed under his leadership and this raid was carried out. His team is currently engaged in guerrilla operations.
