Fatehabad: Residents of Alpha City on Hisar Road approached the court over the company’s failure to pay the electricity bill. The court had also imposed a stay on the company’s officials until October 3 to pay the bills and cut off the electricity connection. Following popular protests and court orders, the company paid the bill of Rs 21,000 and Rs 50,000 on Thursday.

Let us tell you that the company collected the bills from the people living in Alpha City but did not deposit the bills with the Electricity Corporation. Alpha City has its own feeder, draws its supply from the Electricity Corporation and supplies the residents of Alpha with it. This time, the Electricity Corporation had cut off power to Alpha City twice due to non-payment of bills. The Alpha Residential Association filed a lawsuit in court against the company’s move. The court had ordered to restore the status quo and file the reply by October 3. The court also described this as a breach of trust and said that if the electricity bill is not paid by October 3, a lawsuit will be initiated against those responsible for the company. Following the court’s view, the company made a U-turn and paid the outstanding electricity bill. Alpha Residential Association President Devendra Punia, Jagdish Sharma, Naresh Jhajhra, Sandeep Bhatia etc called it a victory of struggle. In this case, the local manager of Alpha Company, Harish Khurana, appeared before the police and recorded his statement. SDO Manik of Electricity Corporation said that Alpha Company has paid the outstanding bill of Rs 21.5 lakh. Electricity is delivered to Alpha City.
