Fatehabad: Two water works workers died by drowning in deep water after slipping their feet from the steps of water tank in jalghar of Khasa Pathana village. About 15 minutes after they both fell in Jal Ghar Diggy, the sound was heard, prompting divers Surendra Soni and Dhani Gopal, along with hundreds of people from Khasa Pathana, to arrive at the site. When both employees were pulled out of the shelter, it was too late. After being removed from the water tank, both staff were taken to the CHC center in Bhuna, where doctors pronounced them dead. As soon as the information of the incident was received, ASP Srishti Gupta, Naib Tehsildar Ranveer Singh Dhania and SDO Public Health Mohit Sharma arrived at the scene, taking stock and consoling the workers’ families.

Atma Ram, 34, and Rajesh Kumar, 32, who worked as beldars as part of skilled employment at the Khasa Pathana water house, were busy cleaning the water house on Monday afternoon. Mahabir Singh and two other employees also worked with him. Due to the sudden rain, Rajesh Kumar and Atmaram’s feet were damaged by clay. As Rajesh Kumar came down the stairs to wash his feet, his foot slipped and he fell into deep water. He couldn’t swim. Seeing his colleague drowning, Atmaram also jumped into the water and tried to save him, but both workers drowned in the deep water of the water house.

When Rajesh and Atma Ram failed to reach the engine room porch for 15 minutes, the third staff member, Mahavir Singh, went to Diggi to see them, but both staff members’ slippers were lying there and due to the mud on the stairs, he straightened up Alarm. As soon as news broke about two drowned employees in Jal Ghar, a large number of youths from Dhani Gopal village and Khasa Pathana descended into Jal Ghar together with the divers, who after great effort pulled Atmaram and Rajesh Kumar climbed out of the Diggy water and called an ambulance. With the help of the CHC, he reached the center with roasts. Here Dr. Yogesh Kumar to save her life with medical resuscitation treatment but after some time both were pronounced dead.

Atmaram and Rajesh Kumar have been providing services at the Khasa Pathana Water House for the past four years during their contracted practice. He was accepted into Haryana Government’s Skilled Employment Scheme on July 1, 2022. Public Health SDO Mohit Sharma said that Atmaram and Rajesh Kumar were on duty at the water house at Beldar’s post, but a serious accident happened when they were washing their feet full of mud while cleaning. The death of both employees and their family members resulted in a great loss for the department that cannot be compensated for.

Both employees are married and have two sons each.

The fortunes of Atma Ram and Rajesh Kumar, residents of Khasa Pathana village and stationed as beldar in Jal Ghar, were eclipsed. After the incident, chaos reigned in both houses while silence reigned in the village. Atmaram had two twin sons while Rajesh Kumar is also a father to two sons. On Monday, a mountain of worries suddenly burst into the laughing family of the two colleagues. Sarpanch Mange Ram Godara said that Atmaram and Rajesh Kumar are very honest and friendly staffs. Those who were far from drunkenness and associated with devotion. He said that his family’s situation is very bad, so the government should provide help and jobs of 50 lakh rupees to the wives of the deceased.
