Rohtak: An elderly person drowned along with two children in the Jawahar Lal Nehru Canal last week. So far only the body of one child has been recovered from Jhajjar area while search for the other child and the elderly person is progressing. The NDRF team has been conducting continuous investigations for the last few days but no trace of either of them has been found so far. The water level in the JLN has now fallen, which is why the bodies of both are expected to be recovered soon.
Two brothers had gone to play by the canal on April 7th
According to the information, Monu, a resident of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, told police that his two children went to the canal on April 7. His elder son is 15-year-old Himanshu while his younger son is 12-year-old Nikit. Of these, Himanshu was in 10th grade and the younger son was in 7th grade. Left the house and said to play but didn’t come back. It was later discovered that his son had drowned in the canal, following which they searched extensively but could not find any clue. The police were then informed. Police launched a search operation following which the body of elder son Himanshu was found on April 10, but the search for the second child is still ongoing.
No trace found of old man who drowned in canal
We would like to tell you that Jaibir Singh, a resident of Dhamad village, lodged a complaint at Sadar police station on April 12, stating that his brother Dayanand was missing since Friday. He had left the house saying that he was going to the fields, but when he went to the canal to get water, his foot slipped and he fell into the canal. Dayanand drowned due to high water flow in the canal. The search for Dayanand has been ongoing since then, but so far no trace of him has been found. The NDRF team is also conducting continuous investigations. After the water level has lowered, it is now hoped that the old man’s body will be found.
