Sonipat: The process of voting in the Sonipat District Bar Association elections has changed in modern times. This time, candidates will have to take maximum help from social networks in the elections. Candidates solicit votes for themselves by sending recommendations to advocates through their friends and acquaintances. At the same time, the committee formed to conduct the elections has banned the display of banners and posters and calls for people to vote at home. In such a situation, candidates appeal to vote for them through social websites, including visiting chambers and individual seats.

We would like to inform you that the elections for the District Bar Association will take place on December 15th. After voting on the same day, the result will also be announced by late evening. According to available information, a total of 1,305 voters in the district chamber will decide the fate of the candidates running in the election. The candidate is working hard to persuade his fellow voters to vote for him. The election committee has completely banned the display of banners and posters in the courthouse. Only through social websites and business cards can the candidate urge voters to seek support for him.

The term of office is one year

We would like to tell you that the first elections to Sonipat Bar Association were held in 1975. At that time, Raj Singh was the director and Harichand was the secretary. Rajsingh remained chairman until 1977. He then became leader again and remained leader until 1978. Thereafter, Chandrabhan Chhikkara remained the chief for two consecutive terms. RK Sapra became director in 1980. After that, Rizk became Ram Pradhan. After that, Naval Singh took charge three times in a row. Anup Dahiya was also elected president of the association three times. The same Sandeep Sharma aka Sweety was the bar manager continuously in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Krishna Malik was also the president of the club three times. In last year’s elections, Rajiv Dahiya had won the chief’s post.

The responsibility of the committee for the peaceful conduct of the elections

Advocate Sukhbir Gulia, RO of the Bar Council elections, said it was the responsibility of the committee formed to conduct the elections peacefully. The committee has banned banners, posters and home visits calling for people to vote. All preparations are completed. It also calls on candidates and their supporters to vote peacefully for their allies. So that the elections can be carried out peacefully.
