Chandigarh. Haryana Right to Service Commission fined Rs 60,000 (Rs 20,000 each in 3 cases) on Balram Singh, Mining Officer at the time, Faridabad for undue delay in cases. Also said that the negligent officials are not spared. In this regard, the Secretary of the Commission said that the Commission found that there had been delays in the distribution of the mineral trader’s license in some cases, according to the Department of Mines and Geology’s Monthly Performance Report for February and March 2022 under the Haryana Right to Service Act 2014. Notified Service.

He said that upon becoming aware of the matter, the commission immediately opened an investigation and sent a Suo Motu notice to the director of the Mining and Geology Department to provide the status report on these matters. Delivery of the Mineral Dealer License will be made via an advised service which should be delivered to the applicant within 45 business days. In some cases, however, applications have been found pending for more than a year.

He said three such cases have been pending with him for more than a year, although notices have been sent to the Faridabad Mining Official for obvious reasons. Facts established during the investigation indicate negligence on the part of Balram Singh, who was in charge of the Faridabad Mining Officer until February 2023. These claims have also been confirmed by the Director of the Department of Mines and Geology.

He said that considering all the facts found during the investigation, the commission decided to fine the accused mining official Balram Singh Rs 60,000 (Rs 20,000 each in three counts). The commission also expressed deep dissatisfaction with the oversight role played by the department’s head office, saying that in the future the commission would penalize the designated official for such a delay. The department should ensure a clear SOP for handling such cases at every level and there should be strict monitoring on their side.
