After Goyal, Mahipal Dhanda became a minister for the first time and then Chief Minister Naib Saini reached Anil Vij’s house to meet him. After the ouster of Anil Vij, who remained powerful with the change of prime minister, the VIP movement suddenly moved towards Vij’s residence. On the day of BJP national president JP Nadda’s scheduled rally in Gharauda, Anil Vij had reached Chandigarh instead of Karnal to meet the Speaker. While speaking to reporters in Chandigarh, Vij dismissed questions about his displeasure with the party and said he was an ardent supporter of the party and would now work with more enthusiasm than before. He described Naib Saini as his younger brother and said that the government was doing a good job and it was hoped that it would continue to do a good job in the future. On the issue of cabinet expansion and distancing from government programs, Vij had expressed that he was not aware of the information about cabinet expansion and said that he has not spoken to any prime minister, including the former prime minister, after the change of government.
Seven new faces in Naib’s family
After taking over as Prime Minister, Naib Saini administered oath to five ministers along with him on March 12. These included Kanwar Pal Gurjar, Ranjit Singh Chautala, Moolchand Sharma, JP Dalal and Dr. Banwari Lal. Among the eight ministers included in the second cabinet expansion on March 19, all received new faces except Dr. Kamal Gupta a chance. In which Aseem Goyal, Mahipal Dhanda, Seema Tirkha, Dr. Abhay Singh Yadav, Subhash Sudha, Sanjay Singh and Bishamber Valmiki got a chance for the first time.
