Haryana Premier Manohar Lal interacted directly with the new beneficiaries of the Retirement Allowance on Saturday.

Haryana Premier Manohar Lal said that the state government is the government of the poor and needy. We work continuously for their well-being. They have precedence over the government, and the state government ensures that benefits from the welfare systems reach all beneficiaries. The biggest example of this is ration cards being re-created by 2.30 lakh families whose ration cards were truncated due to income-related errors in the family card. The Prime Minister directly interacted with such families via audio conferencing.

The Chief Minister called for wealthy families to voluntarily forgo government benefits so that families in need can benefit. The impact of this appeal was seen when Ambala resident Ajay Kumar, who is a mechanic by trade, said that even on the day his income exceeds Rs government would receive

Another beneficiary, Dalip Singh, a resident of Pichoupa Khurd Village, Charkhi Dadri District, said his BPL map was created but the Ayushman map was not. Thereupon the Prime Minister immediately instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Charkhi Dadri to make an Ayushman card to those affected. Similarly, Bhim Singh, a resident of Prem Nagar, thanked Hisar the Prime Minister for reissuing his BPL card and said the poor have now started to have a good hearing.

The Chief Minister said we have had complaints in the past about ration cards not being issued by beneficiaries and various benefits being claimed by non-eligible people. To this end, the current state government has started a new experiment and created family cards for around 72,000 families in the state. A survey of the families was carried out using several teams. Not only that, BPL’s income eligibility limit used to be Rs 1,000,000 annually which we have increased to Rs 1,000,000. After all these procedures, the process of creating automatic ration cards through family cards was started, and about 12.5 thousand new ration cards were created in the month of January. He said that by abolishing the Khaki life ration card, i.e. the OPH category, the state government added it to the BPL card category. Now only eligible people receive the benefits of state institutions.

Our policy and intentions are clear

The CM said that gradually it was also noticed that some families that used to be in the BPL category have become wealthy families. A few families were found in which one or the other family member got a job and some families have filed income tax returns and paid income tax in the last 3 years. After this trial, the government received complaints that their ration cards had been unjustly reduced. In order to solve this problem, as early as January 2023, citizens were asked to register their complaints via the portal. After receiving the complaints, about 2.30 lakh families had their ration cards re-issued after the verification process was completed and they were also provided with the ration for the month of January. He said that our policy and our intentions are clear.

Many programs are running for the welfare of very poor families

The prime minister said many programs are run by the state government for the welfare of very poor families. Chief Minister Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana has been put in charge of the economic recovery of the state’s very poor families, whose incomes are less than Rs 1 lakh a year. As part of this, the members of such families are granted loans for self-employment. Apart from that, health insurance coverage of Rs 5,000 has been provided to 15.5,000 families of the state under the Ayushman Bharat scheme as per central government norms. To expand the scope of this program, the government of Haryana Chirayu established Haryana Yojana and today about 32,000 families are receiving the benefits of Ayushman Yojana.

Plan for health examinations of citizens also in private hospitals

Manohar Lal said that the state government formulated Nirogi Haryana Yojana to ensure citizens’ health care. Within the framework of this program, health screenings are carried out on more than 1 million citizens. So far, 4.5 lakh people have been tested. Health checks are carried out in all hospitals, CHCs and PHCs. In the coming period, an agreement will be reached with private hospitals and laboratories so that citizens’ tests can be carried out soon. Because of this, any disease is detected in advance, and its treatment can be timely.
