Fatehabad: In Friday’s District Bar Council elections, Pradeep Bainiwal won the presidency by defeating his rival Dinesh Gera by 248 votes. Pradeep Bainiwal got 449 votes while 201 lawyers voted for Dinesh Gera. Of a total of 701 lawyers, 656 exercised their right to vote. In addition, Kamlesh Vashishtha was elected as secretary and Sudha Rani as vice president. Kamlesh Vashishtha defeated his rival Chhotu Ram by 204 votes while Sudha Rani, who became vice-president, defeated Anil Solara by 135 votes.

The positions of president, vice president and secretary of the District Bar Association were voted on Friday. Voting begins at 9 a.m. and votes are cast until 4 p.m. After the vote, the votes were counted. Of the total 701 members of the Fatehabad Bar Association, 656 exercised their right to vote. Returning Officer SS Thind, Deputy Returning Officer Sitaram Bainiwal, Vikas Sharma, Kuldeep Manju, Virendra Kumar, Lovepreet Mehta, Naveen Narang and Manjeet Kajla said that this time five booths were constructed so that voters could cast their votes conveniently. For the director’s post, Pradeep Bainiwal defeated his rival Dinesh Gera by 248 votes. There was a direct competition between the two candidates Pradeep Bainiwal and Advocate Dinesh Gera for the post of President of the District Bar Association. In this, Pradeep Bainiwal got 449 votes while Dinesh Gera got 201 votes. Four lawyers voted for NOTA while two withdrew their votes. Pradeep Bainiwal won with 248 votes and was elected President of the Bar Association.

For the post of secretary, there was a triangular competition between advocate Kamlesh Vashishtha, advocate Rohtash Bishnoi and advocate Chhotu Ram. Kamlesh Vashishtha won with 204 votes. Kamlesh Vashishtha got 382 votes out of 656, while Chhotu Ram got 178 votes and Rohtash Bishnoi got 90 votes. 3 votes went to NOTA while 3 votes were canceled. Advocate Anil Solara and Advocate Sudha Rani were in the fray for the post of deputy prime minister. Sudha Rani won with 135 votes. Sudha Rani got 387 votes out of 656 while Anil Solara got 252 votes. 8 votes went to NOTA while 9 votes were canceled. Returning Officer SS Thind, Deputy Returning Officer Sitaram Bainiwal, Vikas Sharma, Kuldeep Manju, Virendra Kumar, Lovepreet Mehta, Naveen Narang and Manjeet Kajla announced the results and presented certificates to the winners. There was excitement in the courthouse all day about the bar elections. The new supporters expressed their satisfaction after voting, while supporters of the competing candidates called for them to vote for their candidate.

Ratia Bar Election: Devendra Grover became Pradhan for the second time by winning by 11 votes.

The elections for President of the Bar Association in Ratia were peaceful. In these elections, 262 out of 269 votes were cast. Davindra Grover was elected chairman for the second time by winning the count by 11 votes. Grover got 136 votes while Kulwinder Dhillon got 125 votes and one vote was deleted. After the election results, supporters of the winning candidate also expressed their joy by playing bhangra. It is noteworthy that in the elections to the Ratia Bar Association, with the exception of the office of President, all other candidates were selected unopposed. Kulwinder Singh Dhillon and Devendra Grover remained as the only candidates for the post of Pradhan and there was tough competition. Both candidates campaigned hard to win the elections and also conducted several days of public relations campaigns to sway the votes in their favor. Returning officer Amar Kamra said that the winning candidate Devendra Grover got 136 votes and Kulvindra got 125 votes, one vote was deleted.
