Bahadurgarh: A person from Bahadurgarh was cheated in the name of a part-time job. By contacting him via Telegram, the miscreants cheated him of Rs 1.45 lakh. The victim reported this to the police. Following the victim’s complaint, Jhajjar cyber police station registered a case and initiated investigation.

The victim Mukesh said that he works in a company based in Gurugram. A few months ago, a woman named Ramita contacted him on Telegram. Ramita described herself as an agent for an online travel company and offered her a part-time job. As the conversation continued, the woman created my login ID on this website and said that you need to log in and complete 30 tasks, which will credit the commission to your account. Once he completed the task, 1027 rupees appeared in his account. After that, Ramita added me to a group. They continued to pay taxes by attracting commissions and he continued to fulfill them. When the amount reached several million euros, my account suddenly went into the red. When we spoke to him, he said that you have to fulfill the business orders placed, which increases your commission.

This is how he got me to deposit more money. Nevertheless, the account remained in the red. By the time 45 tasks were completed, there were more than 21 lakh rupees in my account. When I wanted to withdraw money, my ID account was blocked. At first they said that it was blocked due to incorrect password entry. After that they started saying your amount is more than 15 lakhs. Therefore, you have to pay a deposit of Rs 7.5 lakh. In this way, Rs 13,000 and Rs 74,000 were defrauded. When a complaint was made about his ID in this regard, there was no response. Finally I filed a complaint with Cyber Cell. The police, however, say that the matter is being investigated.
