Haryana: INLD Principal General Secretary and Ellenabad MLA Abhay Chautala, while welcoming the women’s reservation bill passed by the central government in the Lok Sabha, said that the women’s reservation bill passed in the Lok Sabha was a formulation to encourage the people confuse. Without census and delimitation, seats cannot be reserved for women in the 2024 elections. With regard to the elections, the central government has only confused the people.

He said that it is very important that women are represented in the democratic system and in politics. Today, women compete with men in every field, from education to banking, industry to aerospace, and raise the flag of success. But the central government has once again thrown out a phrase in the name of the Women’s Reservation Bill to confuse people. This promise was included in the BJP’s election manifesto. If the BJP government’s intentions to provide reservation to women were clear, then it would have been in power for 10 years and achieved delimitation through a census in 2021. However, the census to be conducted in 2021 was not carried out. Due to the lack of a census, the delimitation is also still pending. Without delimitation, seats cannot be reserved for women in the upcoming 2024 elections. He said that the OBC community was being done a disservice by ignoring the OBC category in the Women’s Reservation Bill and therefore the women of the OBC category would not benefit from it. If the BJP government can provide reservation to the OBC category in civic elections, then the OBC category should also have been included in this women reservation bill.
