CBSE has issued guidelines.

Sonipat news:There is important news for the schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the students studying there. CBSE, while issuing a new circular, has strictly advised on the absence of students in schools. According to the new circular, if a student’s absence is found to be less than 75 percent, that student will not be allowed to appear for the board examination. Schools have been given strict instructions to follow the rules of the circular. In this context, the board team can also carry out surprise inspections in schools. For this reason, schools have been asked to maintain attendance and other records correctly. If a school is negligent, CBSE can take action. As a lawsuit, measures have been taken ranging from imposing a fine to revoking the school’s recognition.

CBSE has also issued a letter to all principals in this regard. It states that schools do not only serve the purpose of imparting specialist knowledge. The holistic development of students during school education is ensured through extracurricular activities, peer learning, character education, instillation of values, collaboration, respect for diversity and inclusion, respectful interactions and teamwork. Schools play an important role in holistic personal development. That is why it is compulsory for pupils to visit the schools regularly. The presence of students in schools contributes to their academic success and their personal and holistic development. When students do not go to school, their overall development is affected. With this in mind, CBSE has issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Records must be kept up to date, otherwise…

CBSE officers may conduct surprise inspections of CBSE-affiliated schools at any time. The presence of the students from the 9th to 12th grade can be checked. If the inspection finds that a student is absent and the requested documents are not available in the school, the register has not been updated or the school is found not to follow the instructions given, strict action will be taken by the board. A fine or even the recognition of the school can be revoked. Therefore, schools must also keep complete records up to date.

25 percent relaxation in presence mode

According to the new CBSE circular, 25 percent relaxation in attendance has been provided to students in emergency situations such as illness, family situation and other reasons. In the event of illness, the student must submit an application for leave to the school together with the medical certificate. Schools also ensure that students attend school regularly. If a student repeatedly takes vacations or stays away, the school must inform their parents in writing.

These rules must be followed

  • Schools must ensure that all students come to school regularly or not.
  • Every day, students’ attendance should be recorded in the attendance register and duly signed by teachers and school officials.
  • When 10th and 12th grade students are sent on educational trips or other activities, proper records must be maintained. So that it can be provided at the time of surprise inspection.
  • When a student takes leave, he should have the reason he wants.
  • If a student’s attendance is less, let the board know.
